Sniper elite 3 - a third-person shooter with a serious tactical part, where you need to think over every step, every shot from your sniper rifle, to undermine the German car from the inside. The events take place during the Second World War, in a not very standard setting - North Africa.

The plot is a prequel to the previous part of the series - V2. The main character, an elite sniper, will be an agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Karl Fairbairn. He goes to the German rear to provide serious assistance to the allied forces and collect information about the secret project of the Nazis - the development of secret weapons. SS General Franz Wahlen is in charge of the creation process.

Most of the gameplay is stealth missions behind the front lines. The maps are large and open, because of this, the passage becomes non-linear, and the scope for a variety of tactics is even greater. In addition to using his advantage - a workshop of shooting from sniper rifles, Karl will be forced to engage in close combat using melee weapons or pistols.

Shooting with rifles with huge optics is implemented as closely as possible to real life. During aiming, distance, wind, even the pulse of the main character will be taken into account.
